Telangana University was established in 2006 by the Government of Telangana (formerly Andhra Pradesh) to provide quality higher education to students in the region. The university is located at Dichpally, about 15 km from Nizamabad city, on a sprawling campus with modern academic and administrative facilities.

The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and professional programs in Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Computer Science, Social Sciences, and various interdisciplinary fields. It is affiliated with numerous degree and postgraduate colleges across Nizamabad and neighboring districts.
